This forum, focused on LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified buildings featured presentations from the City of Cambridge’s Mayor Craig, Bob Paul, Director of Facility Development at the City of Cambridge, and Steve Carpenter, President of Enermodal Engineering Ltd. Each of these speakers provided insights on how LEED certification fits into their environmental strategies, the features of their LEED buildings, as well as their expected energy savings.

A Grander View - Enermodal Building A Grander View

Located at 582 Lancaster St. W, A Grander View is the new headquarters of Enermodal Engineering, Canada’s largest green building consultant. Predicted to be the most energy efficient office in Canada using 82% less energy than a conventional office, A Grander View is the first ever LEED-NC (New Construction), EBOM (Existing Buildings: Operations and Maintenance), and CI (Commercial Interiors) Platinum candidate.


Cambridge City Hall Cambridge City Hall

Officially opened in June 2008, Cambridge City Hall is the first city hall in Canada with Gold LEED® Certification. Featuring a 110 m2 “living wall” of tropical plants, exceptional water conservation performance, a green roof and amenities that encourage both pedestrian traffic and alternative forms of travel, this building is expected to achieve annual energy cost savings of about 42%. The city hall recently won the Excellence Award in the Government category from Environmental Design and Construction Magazine.
