Carbon Accounting Tool

Regional Carbon Initiative members are given access to an easy-to-use Carbon Accounting Tool that quantifies GHG emissions and helps members monitor their reduction commitments.

Events

Sustainable Waterloo provides member organizations with two different quarterly educational events:

1. Educational Forums: To provide attendees with the opportunity to hear from subject-matter experts and their peers, in order to learn cost-effective best practices with regards to reducing carbon emissions.
2. Technical Workshops: To provide attendees with technical information from GHG Services Professionals (engineers, consultants, and energy specialists) in Waterloo Region, such as how to conduct a GHG inventory.

Pledging Partners and Observing Organizations receive free admission to both quarterly Educational Forums and Technical Workshops.

If members are unable to attend events or wish to review speaker presentations, all event presentations are recorded and made available through Sustainable Waterloo’s member portal.

GHG Services Directory

The GHG Services Directory helps Regional Carbon Initiative Members meet their carbon reduction targets by putting them in contact with experienced GHG services professionals that will help them identify and realize reduction opportunities.

Public Recognition

Sustainable Waterloo provides positive third-party recognition for Regional Carbon Initiative members by showcasing the outstanding efforts and accomplishments of individual members (as merited), as well as the collective efforts of all members across Waterloo Region, with respect to saving energy, saving money and reducing carbon emissions.

Sustainable Waterloo’s Annual Report will be published every March, documenting the achievements of all organizations pursuing voluntary GHG reductions as part of the Regional Carbon Initiative. Distribution of the report will coincide with the Annual Evening of Recognition, where members of the community, industry, academia, local government and other NGOs will come together to recognize and celebrate the progress of members across Waterloo Region in their efforts to work towards more environmentally sustainable business operations.
